The Road To New Mexico: Mesa Verde

At the end of June, we traveled with Jan and Tom to visit Tina's sister and her family. On the third day, we stopped at Mesa Verde, site of many ancient Native American dwellings.

The kivas were once covered chambers where religious ceremonies were performed. This kiva was about twenty feet deep. Jan and Tom walking along one of the trails connecting different dwelling sites. The dwelling sites were full of connecting tunnels. Here, Graham peeks out of an opening to one.
