The whole thing (including activation) seemed to take less than 10 minutes. I got the 16GB model in white. I sat in the parking garage for at least 15 minutes playing with it before I forced myself to put it down and drive to work.
Memories of Nietzsche
A year ago our cat Nietzsche died soon after we returned from our vacation in the Midwest. One thing I realized after it happened is that although many people may have met or known Nietzsche, the only people who really, really knew him were those of us who lived with him: Tina, Thomas, Graham and I. Consequently, we all shared in the private pain of his loss – a pain that nobody else outside of our family can appreciate in the exact same way that we do. Nonetheless, as a final act of farewell, I thought I would share some of my memories of Nietzsche’s life.

I should be asleep
I couldn’t sleep last night because I didn’t have my amazon fur throw pillows with me so I read for awhile. I noticed the flashing and thunder outside but didn’t know there were thunderbolts. We don’t get them very often here so I usually go outside to watch. Fortunately, one of my favorite photographers caught the action. Be sure to click through to see his other photos of the storm.
Got Lightning?
Portlanders received a rare treat last week, a thunder and lightning show. Despite all the rain we get here, conditions are not usually conducive to lightning. Our family had just finished dinner when it started so we drove up Marine Drive and watched it from the Troutdale Airport.
Barack Obama in Portland today
Most of these voters have probably already dropped their ballots in the mail. The Oregonian got a great set of photos from the event held on the Waterfront.

Lolcats
If you’re a nerd like me, you probably know all about “lolcats” already. If you’re not a nerd (which is more likely), then you either have never heard of lolcats or you have but don’t know what it is. Allow me to explain.
Separated at birth?
If I were Jerry Buss, I’d shave my mustache ASAP.
Rise x2
So many great parts to this photograph: rising moon, Mt. Hood in the distance and Portland waking up.
